I spoke with the currency exchange office at Raleigh-Durham international airport while ago and learned a few things that may or may not be of interest.
1) Each airport contracts with a company for their currency exchanges. RDU airport will not exchange Iraqi dinars at this point and have no plans to. Their company does not deal with dinars.
2) He said that if a currency revalues and the company begins exchanging, it would be sometime after it is announced and not an instant availability.
3) Amounts of $80,000 or less should be fine as a walk up but anything more should be through an appointment.
4) He does not know of any special machines being considered.
He did not sound sound very familiar with a pending revaluation and may be low on the proverbial totem pole. Still, before anyone rushes to the airport I recommend calling ahead for similar information.
