Voice of Iraq) - The United States closed the U.S. embassy and three of its consulates in Pakistan until further notice, in case any work could be launched against them in retaliation for the killing of U.S. special forces to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, near Islamabad night Monday.

In a statement issued Tuesday, said the United States Embassy in the Pakistani capital: "The U.S. embassy in Islamabad and consulates in the U.S. each of Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi are closed to the public in respect of matters relating to the work routine, until further notice.

The statement also mentioned the embassy and consulates "will remain, however, is open" for other work, and to provide emergency services for American citizens. "

The U.S. State Department has also issued a statement warning its citizens through the world of travel or residence abroad, in the wake of the killing bin Laden, saying he might break out of violent anti-United States in the world in retaliation for the killing of bin Laden at the hands of the Americans.
