WASHINGTON (AP) — Gen. Ray Odierno has been sworn in as the Army’s new chief of staff.
The 1976 West Point graduate has served in the army for more than 34 years and was commander of forces in Iraq.
Odierno replaces Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, who will become the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, when Adm. Mike Mullen retires at the end of the month.
