Big surprise on "The Big Show" - a Marine sergeant wounded in Iraq was presented with a free home Monday while visiting John Boy and Billy on their morning radio show.

Vincent Gizzarelli, who left the Marine Corps in 2009 on medical retirement with traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress and shrapnel wounds, was presented with a five-bedroom log home to be built in Jacksonville through a charitable program, Operation Finally Home.

"It's just a wish come true," said Gizzarelli's wife, MaJane "Jamie" Gizzarelli, when they were told about the house.

In addition to their own two teenaged children, the Gizzarellis serve as foster parents to three young brothers with disabilities.

Presently, the Gizzarellis rent a three-bedroom house in Jacksonville. Their new home, which will include a "man cave" space above the garage, will be mortgage-free and should be completed by early next year.

Gizzarelli joined the Marines in 1998 and went on two infantry tours of Iraq, including the 2003 invasion. His unit was involved in the rescue of Army Pvt. Jessica Lynch.

Gizzarelli remains in treatment for his injuries. "God bless the Marine Corps - the Wounded Warrior program has been in touch since the beginning," he said.

Their new home is the first North Carolina project for the Texas-based Bay Area Builders Association Support Our Troops non-profit, which has already built 12 homes for wounded or disabled veterans.

Their North Carolina program scored at least one donation Monday - during the show, "John Boy" Isley pledged $3,000 to the charity.
